Accounting and bookkeeping firms

The short answer
Ben Johnson of Zygo Consulting comes down from Montgomery to work with businesses in The Woodlands, Spring, Shenandoah and Oak Ridge North. He focuses on professional offices (accounting, law, dental and medical) and the trades that serve the villages. The founding 30-day sprint is $2,000, built in the owner's name, and the walk-through happens at your office.
The Woodlands, about 27 miles north of downtown Houston, began in 1974, founded by George Mitchell. The residential villages came first and the commercial centers followed, and the Township describes each village center as a place for retail and professional services.1 It still isn't a city: in November 2021, residents voted to remain a special-purpose district.2
Those professional offices are most of who I'm writing to here: accountants, law firms, dental and medical practices, and real-estate teams.
I don't have a Woodlands client to point to yet. When I do, and they agree to be named, you'll read about it on this page.

An inquiry lands at 9 p.m. and nobody sees it until morning. A reply within minutes, with the intake questions your firm picks, keeps that person from calling the next firm. AI for law firms.
The front desk is checking someone in when a new patient calls. A text back offers a time to book, and the desk picks up the thread when it's free. What an AI receptionist costs.
Every lead from the site or a portal gets a reply within minutes, then a follow-up that keeps going after the first agent gets busy.
Plumbers, electricians, HVAC and pest control. Calls ring while the crew is in somebody's attic, and a text back holds the customer until someone can call. Missed-call text back.
Your office. I come down from Montgomery. If mornings are full of clients, we meet before you open or over lunch.
About 30 minutes for the first conversation. If we go ahead, the walk-through in week one takes a morning.
Nothing is required. If you have last month's call log, or a list of the inquiries still waiting on a reply, that's the fastest way in.
I don't need to see any for the first meeting. If the work later touches client data, access is set up in your accounts, on your rules.
A one-page plan by email: what I'd fix first, what it costs, and the written guarantee. You decide when you're ready.
North Houston too. I live up the road in Montgomery, and the main page has every town I cover.
The founding 30-day sprint is $2,000 for five local businesses this fall, two starting in November and three in December. I pay for the tools during the sprint, every account is in your name, and every sprint comes with a written guarantee spelled out in your one-page plan. After day 30 you can keep me on at $1,500 a month (regular $2,500) or run it yourself. Once the founding spots fill, the sprint is $5,000.
How the 30 days run · How this compares with what AI help usually costs
I'm Ben Johnson. My family and I live in Montgomery. Most of my career happened on a screen, and I want the next chapter to be with businesses I can drive past.
At Amazon I managed hundreds of millions of dollars a year in business. Then I built and ran a portfolio of consumer brands that grew to $80M+ a year. Today I lead growth and operations for a handful of consumer brands and media companies, mostly by fixing how leads, orders and money move through each business.
I do the work myself. The person who walks through your business in week one is the person who builds your system.
15 yrs in growth. 0 yrs in your trade. You'd teach me that part.
Ben Johnson of Zygo Consulting lives in Montgomery and comes down to work with businesses in The Woodlands, Spring, Shenandoah and Oak Ridge North, most often professional offices and the trades. He sets up AI for the work that slips, like slow replies to inquiries and paperwork. The founding 30-day sprint is $2,000, built in the owner's name.
No. I live in Montgomery and meet you at your office, since that's where I can see how a call or a client file moves.
Yes. The founding sprints start in November and December, before tax season. The sprint takes about four hours of your time across 30 days, and we schedule those hours around your calendar.
Not yet. The five founding spots this fall are my first local sprints, which is why they're $2,000 instead of $5,000. I'm glad to tell you about the work I do for consumer brands today.
